C.C. SABATHIA TO THE RED SOX AGAIN
Unless the objective - making the postseason 8 out 10 years - of the Red Sox has changed, they will not make a deal to bring any of the starters Sean McAdam noted. If it has changed and the Sox want to increase their shot at going back-to-back, Theo will only be a player for C.C. Sabathia as the others are essentially Jon Lester and Dice-K - a.k.a. strikeout pitchers with both health, command, and control issue. Only C.C. is a difference maker.
With that being said, I doubt C.C. is coming to Beantown. If he becomes available, the Sox will be outbid by the Cubs and possibly the MFY as they stand the most to gain financially. I mean, how much could have the Yawkey Trust sold the Sox for right after a World Series win? The Cubs/Tribune Co./Sam Zell have the most to gain by going all-in this year. If any Cy Young Award winner comes to Boston this summer, it is going to be Pedro Martinez.
