POST MORTEM
The primary reason the Red Sox are not playing baseball this week is their inability to hit on the road. Even after the acquisition of a Victor Martinez, they still were not putting up enough crooked numbers away from friendly Fenway. Both John Lackey and Jared Weaver pitched well but they should not dominate.
As far as yesterday, the lion’s share of blame goes to Jonathan Papelbon. He threw all fastballs! We know Papelbon is no Rhodes Scholar but c’mon. How about the slider or split? Breaking News: Jonathan Papelbon is no Marino Rivera. He can’t live off of one pitch.
