TRIPLE PLAY TAKE
Since I already addressed the pitching side of things…
* The Sox will not acquire a shortstop to fill-in for Julio Lugo. Jed Lowrie can share the duties with Alex Cora.
* Coco isn’t going anywhere now that Bobby Kielty has been released.
* Unless the Sox see something from Youk and DP that indicates they can not sustain their current production levels (I think both have adjusted brilliantly to “the book“ on them - I am very bullish on the right side of the infield), then the only real concern is that Drew will drop off. At 32, I have my doubts that he is going to continue to kick ass like he did for the Braves back in 2004 at 28. Which means the Sox are likely betting on a better second half from Tek and Big Papi.
