JUAN URIBE, REALLY?
My first reaction to the Sox having interest in Juan Uribe was WTF?! He is an automatic out, a rally killer, and is making too much money. Then, I recall Uribe has good power from the right-side so he could be an interesting pinch hitting option. He also rates well with the glove over the last couple of years. If Uribe is as good as his old numbers in the field suggest, he would be a nice defensive replacement at short. Uribe could a good complement to Lowrie, who scouts question his ability at the position. Regardless of the outcome, this leads me to believe that the Sox do not trust Lowrie at short. With the infield locked up, Lowrie could be a trading chip this winter.
My friends have two extra tickets for the Sox game in Toronto. Email El Guapo's Ghost if you are interested.
