CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM
My motivation has been dying off due to these late night C’s games and the Sox doing just about everything right. Analysis that concludes “all is well” is uninteresting. So over the next few weeks, I explore ways to improve interleague play, The All-Star Game, The World Series as well as other random rumblings, but until then…
Even though Big Papi is hurt and many other guys are bang up, the Sox depth primarily due to a player development has kept them afloat. The days of Nomah or Pedro going down and there goes the summah are ovah.
Of course, the Sox like everything is not perfect. But Theo is unlikely to pay the price to bolster the pen, solidify the rotation, or acquire a middle of the order bat when the Olde Towne Team has the highest A.L. shot (83% to 88% according to Baseball Prospectus) at playing playoff baseball. With that being said, Theo is not going to move any of the youngsters we know for 2008. The Red Sox organization is half way to accomplishing the company’s main objective – having Fenway open in October eight times in ten years. Theo is not betting the farm to go back-to-back.

Rest In Peace Tim Russert. No matter your politics - Russert kicked ass on Meet The Press and he loved baseball. He was on the Board of The Hall of Fame, a season ticket holder of the Nationals, before that the Birds and was the moderator for the weird RSN debate.
