THE SOX HAVE BEEN FORUTNATE

The Olde Towne Team has the best record in the A.L. Even though they have played a tough schedule in terms of travel and opponents, Mike Lowell, Mike Timlin and Josh Beckett spending time on the DL, the Sox have exceeded expectations. A 500 record over this stretch would have been wonderful. This is a great accomplishment.

The organizational depth, a good pen and timely clutch hitting has pumped up the Sox record because they have only outscored their opposition by 12 runs, prior to yesterday's game. Over the long-haul on the same run differential, we would be looking at 92.5 wins. The Sox would be right in the playoff hunt, despite poor and inconsistent starting pitching - outside of Beckett, nothing from Lowell or Big Papi, and the roughest part of the year out of the way. With two out of those three issues seeming to be resolved, the Olde Towne Team appears to be on solid ground for another round of October baseball in the Fens (knock on wood). BP’ PECOTA originally put that into question.

Only in Burlington, VT does the chance to recycle your electronics for free generate a traffic jam in both directions. And I can’t believe going to a dump to recycle hasn’t made the full list of stuff white people like. BTW, the site is hilarious assuming my interpretation of the tone is correct.
