BILL BUCKNER STILL SUCKS
It was not all Bill Buckner’s fault in 1986; many played a role that lead to the irrational curse theory. I forgave him years ago for the miscue. But what I can’t forgive Buckner for is profiting from his infamous part in the debacle.
The man didn’t need the money. He made more than $2.7 million during his playing days and has the MLBPA pension. Buckner was and is doing just fine financially. I think he did it just to rub our noses in it. A little pay back for all the grief we gave him. Okay, I can accept that, although two wrongs don’t make it right. If we all want reconciliation, I’m calling on Buckner to donate all the money he made from that freaking poster to the Jimmy Fund and stop selling them for crying out loud.

EVERYONE NEEDS OPTIONS
Eric Hull was traded to the Sox from the Dodgers for Christian Lara. Lara is a plus defender but that was about it. He has been with the Sox forever and has slipped on the depth chart each season. Lara was not worth much to the Sox at this point.
As for Hull, he ate up the PCL out of the pen in his second go round last year, although he is old and not a prospect. Hull is basically here to be supplemental insurance in case the entire pen comes down with food poisoning. The Sox can call him up, and after a day or two; the club can option him back to the PawSox. This is a luxury they currently do not have with Aardsma and Corey, but it will likely not be much of an issue in the future as one of them will be designated for assignment (my guess is Corey due to the lack of upside) when Timlin comes off the DL.
