CIRCUS SHOW
Our Sox have become a traveling circus. Send ‘em to Japan and put ‘em in a joke of a diamond in LA all under the umbrella “for the betterment of the game.” Well, I think it is for the benjamins, which is fine, but our Sox have become everyone’s team because many neutral fans gravitate towards winners. There is room on the bandwagon; I just want a seat up front.
The talk about a Red Sox Dynasty fueling the circus and is funny at this point. The MSM needed a story line for 2008 and ran with it. For me, a Dynasty is decade long dominance, with dominance being defined six or more championships.
Is it possible? Sure. Four W.S. in the next six years could happen if…
1) Beckett continues to produce and signs,
2) Dice-K and Buchholz kick ass like Beckett,
3) Paps pulls a Rivera,
4) the Sox find two monster bats to fill in for the Manny-Big Papi show,
5) Theo can fill in the blanks around the diamond.
The odds are good on #3 and #5 and half of #1, but the others “I’m not betting my paycheck on.” If the Sox signed Matt LaPorta (2006 draft) and Pedro Alvarez (2005 draft) to team with Lars Anderson, #4 would look a lot more promising than it does now.
My AL predictions will be up tomorrow and then back to my trip to FL.
