BUY LOW AND SELL HIGH

Continuing on with my “out of the box” thinking...Kevin Youkilis is a solid hitter and a gold glove at first, but this may be the best time to move the a$$hole for the following reasons:

1) He is exiting most hitter’s prime years. Next season will be his age 29 season. Youk likely won’t fall off a cliff, but ten years from now I’ll bet that 2007 will be looked as one of his best seasons.

2) Youk is not considered athletic by baseball scouts so a move across the diamond increasing his value in the next few years is unlikely and his bat plays better at third than first.

3) Many clubs are looking for a third baseman with few attractive options on the free agent and trade markets.

4) He is still relatively inexpensive as he will enter his first year of arbitration.

The booty - Lester, Ellsbury, Lowrie - I’m proposing sending to Florida, would be partially replaced by the return for Youkilis. The Cards, Brewers, Giants, Phillies, and Twins all have a need for an inexpensive third baseman either in terms of dollars or players.

And apparently, we'll know much more later today on what's going on with Johan Santana.

Scrubs is a goofy sitcom but it usually makes me lol once a show. Here is last week’s lol clip.
