SEVEN - ELEVEN

Dice-K is the key to this game. No big surprise here. LAA is a good early fastball hitting club so Dice-K needs to throw his off-speed stuff for strikes early in the count. If he can do this, the Sox should be in this game.

Unfortunately, Kelvim Escobar is a tough match up for the Sox. Not one hitter is a "sure thing" to have nice appearances versus the Venezuelan. On the plus side for the Sox, Escobar is not healthy. He has had recurrent elbow problems and now seems to have some kind of arm issue. Even though he was effective in his last outing, Escobar needed eleven days off before heading to the mound, after a month of poor starts. He is a question mark for LAA, as is Dice-K for the Sox. This one could be fought out of the pen.
