DOH!

In my haste to post last Friday, I overlooked important factors. First, the PTBNL after July 31st could be anyone since the player needs to pass through waivers. The second is that perhaps once Paps gets up in the pen it counts as work, so why not bring him into any game. Thanks to Mattymatty from Fenway Park Effects on that one. This could have been the case in Saturday’s game too. Lesson learned – I should not only check for water in the pool but also the chemical levels before posting.

If Eric Gagne didn’t blow, the Sox could have been 8-2 instead of 5-5 and the MFY going 7-3 would not be such a big freaking deal around here. Anyway, he didn’t and his teammates didn’t pick him up either. Fortunately, the MFY have their toughest week while the Sox get the Rays and Other Sox plus a day off before the clash in the Bronx. In six days, we’ll know a lot more about the race for the A.L. East.
