NOT BIG NEWS ANYMORE, BUT STILL TRUE
Right now, Jon Lester is overrated. The media has gotten caught up in the wonderful story and have made the kid out to be something he is not, which is a Major League Pitcher.
Lester should not start anytime soon. He does not deserve to be promoted. Lester has been a below average pitcher by sporting a less than 2-to-1 K/BB ratio (71/41 or 1.73) in AAA, as of last week. His record (7-2) in the Show last year is impressive. But if you are still putting stock in a pitcher’s win-loss to predict future results, I got a bridge to sell you. Lester was lucky in the bigs. He had a 60/43 or 1.40 K/BB ratio. We are talking Jason Johnson-esque – remember him. Lester is simply not ready like last summer, but unlike last year, the Sox have options.

Year-end at work, 90+ heat and AC issues will likely prevent new posts until next week when I come back from being on top of the Monster on Sunday!
