PUT IT IN THE BANK
Food taste better; beer is colder; everything is better after a Red Sox sweep of the MFY. And this sweep is big. Taking three against the MFY is great in April or September. They all count the same. Only a sweep in October means more.
But everything did not come up roses this weekend. Here is what I am taking away from the series - both the good and bad:
* Our big three got hit up by a depleted MFY lineup. At times, no Posada, Judas and Matsui on the DL and the ball boy is not going to starting at first in the Fall.
* The Sox’s offense got going, but it was against two non-prospects and at Fenway. Next weekend, should provide to be a better gauge.
* Pedroia is a better fielder than Loretta. Not sure if the rookie can hit.
* Rivera needs to have his location more than Papelbon. Papelbon’s stuff can overcome a missed location. His stuff is just sick.
Live it up now. The Local Nine play again in twelve hours.
