OTHER NEWS FROM MIAMI
It appears that the Marlins are closer than ever to a new stadium.
"There has been really marked progress and we certainly anticipate being able to announce a deal at some point this season," Samson said. "We're hopeful sooner rather than later. But the way things go these past 13 years with the Marlins, you never know."
I'm a kind of a baseball diehard, but it would take a lot for me to regularly attend Florida games in the daily Miami summer heat and downpoors. If any team needs a new stadium, it is the Marlins, but MLB should be picking up some of the tab as well. And if they don't get a new park, a great player might have to go. It's not Dontrelle Willis, but Miguel Cabrera.
Cabrera is just sick. Six of Miguel Cabrera's top ten comparables are Hall of Famers and three more - Griffey, Jr., Andruw, and Vlad - are going to Cooperstown. Cabrera has gotten better each year and at only 24, it will likely continue. He is a tick below Albert Pujols at the same age. Miguel Cabrera could be one of the all-time greats.
"We're just hopeful it's [a stadium deal is completed] as soon as possible," Samson said, "because we really need it."
Or Miguel Cabrera could be traded to the highest bidder, which hopefully would be the Red Sox.

Coming Soon Subjects (not exactly sure when because work is going to be nuts soon due to V-Day): Sox v MFY minor leaguers and other trade bait, random rumblings, DirecTV-MLB deal, and changes that should be made to the draft.
