PURCHASING POWER OF THE NATION
A few Friday mornings ago, George Lopez said on the Bob and Tom Show that after he wore a Mark Buehrle jersey on his show in 2005 that his ratings in Boston dropped to zero. ABC and Lopez now know the power of Red Sox Nation. Warner Brothers/Time Warner/AOL is lucky that Jack Nicholson, after refusing to wear a Red Sox cap in The Departed, is co-starring with die-hard Sox fan, Matt Damon or else the movie might have been a flop in New England. The New Jersey born Laker loving? actor wasn't even Martin Scorsese's first choice for the movie - that was Robert De Niro. I bet he wears a Sox hat.
