TIME FOR A RUN
The Sox are exiting their toughest month of the year. My pragmatic side thought a good goal for the Olde Towne Team would be to play 500 ball in June and 600 would be awesome. Of course, they surpassed that with a 1-1 record! The Sox were banged, bruised and depleted, but made it through, by basically holding serve against the contenders, beating the living crap out of the weaker or reeling clubs, excluding the Mets, and jumping on Big Papi's back for a couple wins once again.
Things should get easier in July - knock on wood - with only 11 or 41% of games against clubs (seven - A's, three - Other Sox, one - Texass) with records above 500. The Sox play 16 versus the Marlins, Rays, Royals, LAA (who can't hit at all and could be selling by the end of July), and Seattle. With Beckett improving, Timlin back, AGone actually hitting a little, the kids contributing and reinforcements on the way (Wily Mo, Clement, Wells - at least adding depth), the Sox are posed to make a run July.
Damn, I sound like a cheesy NESN commercial. Dr. Charles must have switched my coffee with his Yawkey Way Kool-Aid. The Doc is going to have me on the next commercial with a goofy $hit eatin' grin saying lines like "Did you see that catch Willie Harris made?" and "Throw in Jason Johnson and their unstoppable!" Like the TV home of the Red Sox, I guess I should Curb my Enthusiasm.

Signing off for the extra long weekend. Have a great Fourth and Happy Birthday America! Oh...and GO SOX down in the land of Mickey, retires and it's not the heat, it's the humidity.
