MANNY NOT BEING MANNY
After Manny looking feeble against one of his bitches, Moyer, I was concerned that he might be falling off the mid-30’s cliff. The voice in my head that kept saying small sample size (aka triple “s”) was not loud enough.
Until researching Manny comparables, I was worried. But I’ve concluded that if Manny is healthy (the comps on averaged 368 at-bats), then he should be fine. Other than Juan Gone - his top comparable, none of Manny's similar sluggers (Thome, Griffey, Frank Thomas, Jeff Bagwell, Bonds, and HOFers - Mays, Snider and Frank Robinson) have had a significant decrease in production at age 34 that was not injury related. Manny will be Manny and it will be all good.
