MIKE LOWELL TO THE PADRES?
At the end of this evening's Baseball Tonight, it was said that Vermonter, Buster Olney is reporting that the Padres are in discussions with the Red Sox for Mike Lowell. Karl Ravech speculated that the Sox would receive pitching in return for Lowell. The only two pitchers the Sox should want are Jake Peavy and Chris Young. Both are signed to reasonable multi-year deals, so I don't see this deal happening unless a third club is involved or one of the young guns is joining Lowell to one of the best places on earth.
