IT AIN'T OVER, TIL...
...the Red Sox have yet to hear that from the most relevant party of all -- Martinez himself.

If Pedro departs, Theo and the Trio can not react. There is no need to throw the cash budgeted for Petey around to any old free agent - Edgar Renteria, Tek, Delgado, etc. The Sox have to be smart.
BTW, Ben Sheets will not become a free agent until after the 2006 season and the Brewers should have enough dough to keep him. I would not hold my breath.
